Supervisors:

In order to accept students from all over the world, ICIS accepts supervisors from countries of the student’s residence. Such a supervisor should have a PhD degree from reputable institution, have enough knowledge and ability to conduct research in the selected subject, or be a Mojtahid (Jurist) teaching in the seminaries.   In some cases, it is essential to appoint two supervisors for the subject covered, one to cover the methodology aspects and the other one for the subject speciality.   Supervisors are appointed by ICIS. Students can nominate their preferred supervisors but the final appointment will be done by ICIS only.   In case, a supervisor fails to continue his work, ICIS will appoint a replacement.

Student - Supervisor Relationship

If both student and supervisor reside in the UK, they should have a meeting once every month.

If both student and supervisor reside in the same country but outside the UK, they should have periodical meetings. Supervisors should report to ICIS on the student’s progress.

If student and his/her supervisor reside in two different countries, they should communicate with each other via ICIS. However, they should meet twice a year, each visit to last a minimum period of 7 days. Of course, for small matters, they can communicate directly.
