Exams
Apart from term tests, there are two
examination sessions for Face to Face (in campus) students. First session is in
the first week of July and the second round is in the second week of September.
The first round of examination sessions for
distance learning students is in the second week of September. Exact program of
examination sessions and their locations will be sent to students one month prior
to examination dates. However, they can sit with Face to Face students in the
London college if they wish to do so.
The second round is held in London
college only and lies in the second week of December of each year. Again
program will be provided for those who wish to sit for these exams.
Please note that students are required
to enlist themselves for the examination sessions by informing the Registrar in
writing of their willingness to participate no later than 1st of August.
Students who have registered within or
after April have the option to postpone the exams for the next year. In case a
student wishes to exercise this option, he/she should write to the Registrar
one month prior to exams explaining his/her wish to do so. Other students can
do the same, but have to pay the Put-Off fee of £50. Otherwise, those students
who do not inform the Registrar and do not sit for exams will be considered Failed
and should register for the same year again.
Students, who for special circumstances
do not sit for one to three subjects of the exams, can sit for the same in the
second round in London only. Please note that resit subjects (those subjects in
which students have failed in the previous years) are included in the list of
compulsory examination subjects.
Students can only participate in the
maximum number of 6 examination rounds within a span of 10 years.
For
the time being, marking is given to results of final examinations only. In
those countries where a local centre is established, these results count for
80% of the total mark and 20% will be given by a commulative results of local
tests and head of local centre’s remarks.
Marks
are defined and given as follows:
Excellent 90 - 100%
Very
Good 75 - 89%
Good 65 - 74%
Pass 50 - 64%
Fail less than 49%
According
to the above, and considering the passing threshold to be above 50%, students
are categorised each year as follows:
Passed:
This
is given to those students who have passed all their subjects. They can proceed
to the next year after paying their registration fees.
Promoted:
If
a student fails in one, two or three subjects only (including resit subjects from
previous years), he/she will be considered Promoted. These students can proceed
to the next year by paying their registration fees. However, they have to resit
for those failed subjects in the following year.
Students
can sit for exams of failed and resit subjects in the scheduled program only.
Failed:
Students
who fail in more than three subjects are considered Failed and can not sit for
any subject in the second round. They have to study subjects of the same year,
pay the Resit Fee of £70 and sit for exams in all subject.
Examination
Centers:
Students
can sit in any of the following examination center. However, they should inform
the Registrar in writing of their selection. Minimum number of 50 students is
required before any new local examination center could be established.
